Greg was born in Joplin but raised in Carthage, Missouri. He attended McAuley Regional High School in Joplin, received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Missouri Southern State College and attended law school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While in law school, he was on the staff of the Urban Lawyer, a journal of state and local government law and received a Dean's Achievement Award for Outstanding Academic Performance in the area of Constitutional Law.

Greg is a former Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Jasper County and his areas of private practice include family, criminal and business law.
